BEFORE YOU OPEN THIS BOTTLE -- Maximum Flavor Tips [PLEASE READ]
Due to the large size and weight of our 32oz Sesame Dressing bottle, we recommend the “Pour Off” method below for ensuring flavorful pours out of a brand new bottle. If our Sesame Dressing isn’t shaken well, the first few pours out of a brand new bottle will be oily and bland tasting. Please use the CONTACT form if you have any questions about this!
MAXIMIZE THE FLAVOR OF YOUR FIRST SERVING BY USING ONE OF THESE METHODS:
“POUR OFF” METHOD [Easier, less effort and faster]
Note: This method reduces the amount of oil available in our 32oz bottle during the first pour. It is possible to pour too much oil out of a new bottle, yielding a bland, oily, less flavorful taste (see our 1-star reviews on Amazon!). The oil and vinegar in our Sesame Dressing separate almost instantly; therefore, it can be difficult to achieve a good mixture due to the large size and weight of our 32oz bottle. When the oil and vinegar separate, the oil rises to the top and is the first to be poured out of the bottle, yielding a less than flavorful pour.
- Step #1. Allow oil and vinegar to separate completely, do NOT shake the bottle.
- Step #2. Remove all seals and cap and carefully pour off 2-3 tablespoons (or more) of oil into a small container; the oil will be on TOP of the vinegar mixture. This delicious sesame oil blend can be added back to taste or saved for cooking your favorite stir fry dish!
- Step #3. Tighten cap and shake VERY well before serving. We recommend alternating between vigorous shaking and very short pours.
“SHAKE WELL” METHOD [Harder, requires more physical effort and patience]
Note: This method relies on good hand strength and quick pouring to ensure a proper mix of oil and vinegar during each pour. A common cause of bland, oily, less flavorful pours is a combination of under-shaking and too-slow pouring. The oil and vinegar in our Sesame Dressing separate almost INSTANTLY; it can be difficult to achieve a good mixture due to the large size and weight of our 32oz bottle. You must be willing to shake like crazy and then pour in very short spurts. Remember: when the oil and vinegar separate, the oil rises to the top and is the first to be poured out of the bottle, yielding a less than flavorful pour
- Step #1. Remove outer shrink seal AND undercap seal. This step is CRITICAL. It is very common to shake well, only to forget to remove the outer and inner seals. In the amount of time it takes to remove the seals, the dressing has already completely separated…yielding a pour that is nearly ALL oil.
- Step #2. Tighten cap and shake VIGOROUSLY for 8-10 seconds (literally!). This is a lot longer than you think!
- Step #3. Remove cap and pour QUICKLY, less than one second (literally!). A very short pour ensures the oil and vinegar stay mixed. A long, deliberate pour gives enough time for the oil and vinegar to separate, yielding a less flavorful pour…do not pour slowly!
- Step #4. Repeat steps 2-3 as needed.
Additional notes:
- The “POUR OFF” METHOD is only used ONCE for a NEW bottle (only the first serving). Afterwards, you should be able to achieve a flavorful pour by just shaking well like normal.
- We recommend making a habit of using the “SHAKE WELL” METHOD throughout the entire bottle since this will always result in the best mixture and best flavor of our Sesame Dressing (long shaking and intermittent short pours).
- As an alternative, you can purchase the smaller 12oz bottle instead. We rarely ever receive any complaints about “bland, oily” pours from the 12oz bottle (practically none). This bottle is much narrower and lighter, so it is easier to grip and shake well.
- PROPER SHAKING TECHNIQUE: we recommend holding the bottle in the middle and rapidly rotating it from side-to-side in an oscillating motion. Shaking in an up-and-down motion does not yield good mixing results.
